Fluffy teenager Tracy Turnblad believes that her destiny is dance. The girl dreams of performing in a famous television show. The show's author, who happens to be present at the school dance, is enchanted by Tracy's performances and invites her to appear on the program. The teenager quickly wins the audience's sympathy, leaving the show's previous star in the shadows.
However, a devious rival is not going to give up and decides to eliminate her competitor. But her plot only causes great chaos. A joyful, vibrant, enthusiastic musical full of the joy of life, set in the crazy 1960s, premiered on Broadway in 2002.
