Tom Schulman
The theatrical version of the cult film by Peter Weir. A new school year begins at Welton Academy, an elite all-boys boarding school. A new charismatic English teacher, John Keating, joins the faculty. He opposes the four rules of the academy: tradition, honor, discipline, and excellence, with a different way of education and upbringing. Curiosity about the world, sensitivity to beautiful literature, the ability to think independently, and the desire to develop individual passions are the values that his students try to realize in a secret poetry enthusiasts club. What will prevail: the strictly enforced tradition or the right to dreams, freedom, and youthful rebellion?
