This true holiday hit and beloved comedy classic features a wonderful, enchanting score composed by the famous composer John Williams and performed live by the Royal Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by soloists, choir, and children’s choir, totaling over 120 people on one stage. Macaulay Culkin plays Kevin McCallister - an eight-year-old who accidentally stays home while his entire family goes away for Christmas, and as a result, he has to defend it against two bumbling thieves.
Home Alone has held a special place in the hearts of a very broad and diverse circle of viewers since its release. Director Chris Columbus brought a uniquely fresh and innocent perspective to this delightful story, and as a result, his film rightfully earned its place in the holiday television lineup.
I was very pleased to compose the score for this film and am particularly thrilled that the impressive Royal Symphony Orchestra agreed to perform the music during the live presentation of the film. I know that I speak for everyone involved in the making of this film when I emphasize how greatly honored we are by this event, and I hope that today’s audience will rediscover the joy that our film brings every year.
