SLIPKNOT (USA)
To say that the emergence of Slipknot at the end of the 90s was a breath of fresh air for the metal scene is like saying it's nice to sway during a tsunami. Slipknot was a hurricane blow. A new quality and at the same time the culmination of what was best in extreme music of the whole decade: the death metal heaviness and the intensity of black metal under one roof with the intensity of hardcore and the down-to-earth nature of rap? Before the release of "Slipknot" we didn't know it was possible. After "Iowa" and "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)" we could no longer live without it. Equally important was the insane image: nine individuals in overalls and grotesque masks. It’s unclear whether they escaped from a high-security prison or from your nightmare...
There were problems, lineup changes, and a crisis that almost ended the band's activities, but you know what doesn't kill us... Therefore, the album "We Are Not Your Kind," released in 2019, is one of the best materials from the band from Des Moines, and the band's concert performance places them at the current peak of extreme music.
